Wakefield are still battling to secure Betfred Super League survival

On-loan Wakefield forward Chris Green says there is massive pressure on the teams at the bottom of the Betfred Super League as they prepare to travel to Warrington on Friday (Warrington 2/5, Wakefield 4/1, tie 22/1 – Betfred Super League Match Betting).

The 29-year-old made the temporary switch from Hull FC last month, giving up a potential play-off run with the Airlie Birds in order to help Trinity survive.

A win against the current Challenge Cup winners would ensure their safety for another Betfred Super League season and place the onus on other teams.

It has been a difficult season for Chris Chester’s side having slipped down the table following a spate of injury problems.

And, Green says the pressure they are feeling being down near the bottom is much greater than that of teams at the top.

“I have never been in this position at the bottom end of the table, I have been lucky enough to win a couple of cups and be challenging at the top,” said Green.

“But the pressure is the same at the bottom, if not greater.

“Hopefully we can get some more confidence back and get rolling again. We have done that the last couple of games and I am enjoying playing here.”

Elsewhere on Friday, the bottom two face other as Hull KR host London Broncos at Craven Park in a hugely important contest (Hull KR 2/5, London 9/4, tie 25/1 – Betfred Super League Match Betting).

Defeat for London would virtually guarantee their relegation after one season due to their inferior points difference, though a win would drag Tony Smith’s men into the mire heading into the final round of fixtures.

Huddersfield also still have a chance of being relegated but might have to wait until the final round as they have the difficult challenge of going to the Totally Wicked Stadium to face League Leaders’ Shield winners St Helens (St Helens 1/7, Huddersfield 11/2, tie 33/1 – Betfred Super League Match Betting).
