Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson claims the club’s Champions League success has given the players a greater desire to win more trophies this season (Liverpool 9/4 Premier League outright).
Having missed out on the Premier League title by a single point to Manchester City (8/13 Premier League outright), Jurgen Klopp’s side went on to beat Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid.
The Reds are being tipped to push for silverware on a number of fronts as they continue to show progress under their German tactician.
Henderson is excited about what the future holds and says the hunger for further success in the squad is high after last season’s European glory.
“It’s given us a taste of success and we want more of that,” he said. “We have shown that we can win a major trophy and we want to keep making history for this club and this team. We are very confident we can do that.”
With the Reds looking to build a squad capable of going the distance in as many competitions as possible, Henderson feels the Merseyside outfit are starting to develop that under Klopp.
“We are capable of competing on all fronts in every competition we are in,” he added.
“The manager may want to bring players in but, if not, we have a fantastic squad of players who are hungry and can keep us on track.
“We have to keep learning from the manager and I’m sure if we do that there will be more success stories to tell in the future.”
