Hayley Makes History to send Scoop6 soaring into Saturday
Hayley Turner made history on Friday afternoon by becoming the first female professional jockey to ride a winner at Royal Ascot when guiding Thanks Be to a 33/1 success in the Sandringham Stakes, resulting a fourth straight rollover of the week on the Scoop6.
The win fund currently has £114,300 in the pot while the bonus fund has ballooned to £319,137. Therefore, combined funds can be expected to breach £500,000 on Saturday.
There is also an extra bonus of £100,000 available courtesy of Betfred boss Fred Done for a single Scoop6 winner from one of the following qualifying channels – Betfred shops, Betfred.com or Betfred mobile.
Five of the six races are from Royal Ascot, with a visit to Ayr at 4.25pm for the fourth leg, making up the bet.
Friday’s action started well for favourite backers as Daahyeh (4/1f) and Japan (11/8f) saw 5006 units head into the Commonwealth Cup where Frankie Dettori struck again on board 8/1 shot Advertise to the delight of 287 Scoop6 players.
On The line won the only leg away from Royal Ascot at 7/1 to send 42 units through, but all were scuppered when Turner wrote herself into the record books.
totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said: “I don’t think there is much left for this week to achieve in terms of stories after Hayley Turner put herself into Ascot folklore this afternoon. Perhaps the final chapter is reserved for a big Scoop6 winner on the final day?.”
The place fund paid £51.00 and was won by 177 units.
The totejackpot on Saturday consists of all six races on the final day of Royal Ascot 2019 and has a rollover of £49,618 ahead of the opening leg at 2.30pm.
