Fast Bowler Mark Wood will get his opportunity to show what he can do in the fourth one-day international with Pakistan at Trent Bridge on Friday (England 2/5, Pakistan 2/1 – Match Betting).

Wood has had to wait for his turn but looks set to come into the side and partner Jofra Archer in the bowling attack as England make a number of changes.

An England win would give them the series after two wins in their opening three games with one a washout but, with the World Cup looming, it is more about giving everyone a chance to show what they can do before they select their final squad, (England 15/8 World Cup Outright).

Skipper Eoin Morgan is out suspended for a slow over rate so vice-captain Jos Butler steps in after he was rested on Tuesday and James Vince is expected to open the batting, with Jonny Barstow set to sit this one out.

Archer is tipped to return and Wood gets his chance as both Liam Plunkett and Chris Woakes could be rested as England look to keep their great form going.

Wood has not played internationally since a T20 match against the West Indies back in March and is keen to show what he can bring to the side.

“I feel in good rhythm,” he said. “In terms of being 100%, I’ve not played any matches lately, so I’m still missing a little bit of match fitness.

“I feel fit and strong and in good rhythm in practice, but there’s nothing like a game when you are under pressure and you need that extra adrenaline.

“I can’t wait to get out there and try to win the series.”
