Warrington Wolves boss Steve Price is delighted with the effort shown by Tongan prop forward Sitaleki Akauola after he shone in their Easter Monday win over Betfred Super League rivals Hull KR (Warrington 15/8 – Betfred Super League Grand Final Winner).

The 27-year-old has not featured much this season for the Wire but certainly showed some ability as the Robins were thrashed, crossing the line for the last of Warrington’s nine tries.

Akauola has been getting some minutes while out on loan at Rochdale but there have been calls from fans for him to be included in the Warrington squad more often, but Price has revealed he has been suffering with an injury problem.

He told the Warrington Guardian: “He had to get some game-time back at Rochdale but he was unfortunate to cop a bit of an MCL knee injury, which knocked him around for a few weeks.

“He’s back healthy again and I was really pleased with his display at the weekend. He carried the ball strong and did everything we asked of him to the level and above.

“We know when Sita’s at his best, he’s off the back fence and scattering bodies. That’s what we need more of.”

Price will be looking for more of the same when he sends his team out this weekend against Huddersfield Giants (Warrington 1/7, draw 25/1, Huddersfield 9/2 – Match Odds).

Warrington go into the weekend in second place in the Betfred Super League table, four points behind leaders St Helens and four above third-placed Wakefield Trinity.

Odds subject to change.
