Brad Dwyer says his game is improving and he is gaining in confidence as Leeds Rhinos prepare to take on Huddersfield Giants in the Betfred Super League on Good Friday (Leeds 8/13, Draw 20/1, Huddersfield 6/4 – Match Betting).

The Rhinos sit rock bottom of the table and are desperately looking for some kind of spark to get their season going.

It will certainly not be easy against a Huddersfield side who showed what they are capable of with a win over Castleford Tigers last time out.

Dwyer missed out last week as Leeds eased past Workington Town in the Challenge Cup but he returns on Good Friday and he believes his game is improving under new head coach Dave Furner (Leeds 8/1 Challenge Cup Outright).

“I am getting some confidence now,” he told the Yorkshire Post.

“Dave is showing quite a bit of belief in me and that seems to be working for me.

“But this is going to be tough, doing some minutes over Easter. It is something I am looking forward to and hopefully I can get a couple of consistent performances in and nail down this starting spot.”

The Rhinos recall Tom Briscoe, Konrad Hurrell and Dwyer, after they were rested for the Challenge Cup first-round win at Workington, but remain without marquee forward Trent Merrin who is back in Australia on compassionate leave.

Huddersfield Giants include prop Paul Clough for the first time this season as they look to secure their fourth win in five games.

Lee Gaskell drops out of the squad after he picked up a knock picked up in their victory over Castleford last week.
