The Reds are now 7/4 with Betfred to win the Premier League.

Liverpool claimed a dramatic last-gasp victory against third-placed Tottenham Hotspur to put them two clear of title rivals Manchester City at the top of the table.

Although the Blues have a game in-hand, Jurgen Klopp’s men have done their job in putting pressure on the champions.

It was far from an easy afternoon for the Merseysiders. A solid first-half performance saw them go into the break 1-0 up when Roberto Firmino got his head on the end of an inch perfect cross from Andy Robertson.

But Spurs gradually found their feet and imposed themselves, especially on the second-half, causing Liverpool more and more problems. Lucas Moura eventually got the visitors on the board with just 20 minutes left, silencing Anfield and creating a nervy end to the game.

Though it was Liverpool’s day after an own-goal during a scrappy goal-line scramble gave the Reds a very late, dramatic winner to keep the Premier League title well and truly at arms length.

As a result Liverpool have been cut to 7/4 to win the title, with City the 4/9 favourites.

For Spurs this puts a slight dent in their challenge for top four, though they remain 4/7 to finish the season within those prestigious Champions League spots (5/4 not to).

Elsewhere in the Premier League this afternoon, Cardiff were cruelly denied points after a controversial Chelsea comeback in the earlier kick off.

The Bluebirds carried a 1-0 lead into the final 10 minutes and it looked certain they were heading for a vital three points in their battle to escape relegation.

However, an offside goal scored by Cesar Azpilicueta was missed by officials and, after Antonio Rudiger somehow escaped a sending off, Ruben Loftus-Cheek found a 90th minute winner.

As a result, Cardiff are now 1/7 to be relegated while Chelsea are cut to 15/8 to end the season in the top-four.
