India will be seeking a response when they face Australia in a T20 on Wednesday.
India will be looking to level the two match series when they take on Australia in a second T20 ahead of the ODI series in Bangalore on Wednesday (Australia1 7/10, India 4/9 – T20 match betting).
The first game at Visakhapatnam on Sunday was a low scoring affair with the tourists picking up 14 runs in the last over to seal a win, and India will be doing their best to level the two match series on Wednesday.
It was a most un Indian like effort with the bat in the first T20 with only KL Rahul going along nicely during his 36-ball 50, apart from him and Virat Kohli, not one Indian batsman could manage a strike-rate of over a 100 as the hosts were restricted to 126/7 from their 20 overs.
India had given Shikhar Dhawan a rest in the first outing and he could return to the fold in Bangalore especially with the series on the line.
Dinesh Karthik has a point to prove after being left out of the ODI series that follows the T20s, and all eyes will again be on former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
His strike-rate was again the talking point after the first T20 where he scored only 26 runs in 37 balls but he was backed by an unlikely source when Australia’s Glenn Maxwell spoke up for him.
He said: “With the way the wicket was behaving, it was difficult to score for any batter.”
The two sides then face off in a five match ODI series as they both continue their preparations for this summer’s World Cup in England in the summer (India 3/1, Australia 5/1 – World Cup Outright).
