Forget Rhyl! It’s the Canaries – or even Las Vegas – for a big Betfred winner, who is celebrating after becoming debt-free for the first time in her life.

The 54 year old market stall trader from Merseyside won £80,000 on the Irish Lottery from a £10 stake, with her four randomly selected numbers 2,12,32 and 38.

She said: “First I am going to pay off my mortgage, the whole thing which has been a millstone around my neck. What an absolute relief it will be to be debt-free after all these years.

“Next my partner and I will be going on holiday…and it won’t be Rhyl! We like the Canaries so will be booking to go there and sooner rather than later. You never know, we could even try Vegas while our luck is in.”

The Betfred regular added: “I have never won anything like this in my life. It is just brilliant and I want to thank Betfred who have a fantastic atmosphere in the shop. They gave me chocolates when I went in to check my winning ticket which was a nice touch.

“I have had some tough times recently with my mother dying, and people are not spending as much as they did on the market, so it has been hard to make a living.

“It has been tough going. As well as paying off the whole mortgage on my semi-detached house and at least one holiday, I will also pay off the money for my van which I use for work, making me totally debt-free which is fabulous.”

Betfred boss Fred Done said:

“Congratulations to this regular customer who has grafted all her life to make a living – and now she can enjoy more creature comforts thanks to her small stake winning big which is what we at Betfred are all about.”
