Yanworth leapt to the head of the Neptune market after a jaw-dropping success in the race of the same name at Cheltenham earlier in the year and he is sure to prove popular on Wednesday.
The exciting JP McManus-owned gelding quickly became what many viewed as a potential ‘banker of the week’ after demolishing a strong field on his last appearance.
The strong-travelling sort creates a real visual impression as his rider sits motionless entering the final stages and this was seen to full effect as Barry Geraghty merely nudged him out at Cheltenham earlier in the season, cementing real solid course form in the book.
He had finished fourth on his only previous visit in last year’s Champion Bumper and this, along with a runner-up effort behind Supasundae, are the only times that he has failed to win in eight starts.
He seems to be improving and it could take something very special to stop another magnificent performance from Yanworth at Prestbury Park.
Form on ground ranging from good-to-soft to heavy suggests he will have no problem with conditions and after showing plenty of similarities to the majestic Istabraq, connections will be hoping for another smooth success as he progresses into a potential superstar.
His main rival looks to be the brilliant Yorkhill but the vibes are strong for the current favourite and it may well be worth sticking with him.
A Toi Phil and Bello Conti have both been progressing nicely throughout the season and can’t be discounted with such powerful connections but it looks Yanworth’s to lose if he manages to put in a repeat of his last effort.
At 5/4 he may be a tad short but it’s always better to begin with a short-priced winner than a long-priced loser, so get behind JP and co with the exciting Yanworth in the Neptune.
