Eric Bristow reckons Jorgie Porter will hit bulls eye – and be crowned queen of the jungle in the hit TV reality show  I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Crafty Cockney Eric, who is credited with transforming the world of darts with his flamboyant all-conquering style, was a competitor in the gruelling TV reality set in an Aussie jungle but was voted out three years ago today (Saturday).

Five times world darts champion Eric, 58 who lives in Leek, said: “I am watching the latest show…its kind of addictive. What an experience it was for me, I’m still always laughing about it. It was a great experience but if you have a chink in your armour you shouldn’t enter something like that.

“It was amazing I  lost 22 lbs in 22 days. All this current group have done so far is lose a bit of flab. Soon the lack of proper food will start to tell and they will feel knackered, so weak they won’t be able to rush around …and all giddy. They might be finding it tough already but they are nowhere near the pain barrier yet. One thing I do watch out for is where I used to sleep in the camp.

“I will never forget when I was voted out finishing fourth out of the 12. You couldn’t eat anything solid at first so  would you believe I had a beer! Then I tucked into 12 of those massive king prawns they have in Australia. It was two weeks before I could eat properly again.”

Eric was the VIP guest this week at the £100,000 refit of Betfred’s expanded shop at the Victoria Shopping Centre in Nottingham city centre where he took on punters with the three arrows – and chuckled about jungle life.

I'm A Celebrity

“Those bush tucker trials are something else. I did a tunnel escape with gunge, cockroaches, worms and all sorts of other insects dropped on me. I ate crocodile feet, possums’  rear etc. What you have to remember all the time you are in the jungle is nothing can really hurt you.”

So who is Eric putting his money on?  He’s hot on Hollyoaks beauty Jorgie Porter who is second favourite with Betfred to win outright at 6/1 – but only if she can overcome her fear.

But Eric reckons she is facing tough competition from the Betfred 5/6 favourite Vicky Pattison, the former Geordie Shore star who he admits is a looker although a bit young for him! His best of the rest is ex-boxing champ Chris Eubank (7/1 with Betfred) who he says is loving the limelight and won’t be fazed by tough jungle conditions.

Eric added:  “Ferne McCann is a good looker for sure but I don’t rate Brian Friedman’s chances. Duncan Bannatyne doesn’t appeal to a wide enough cross section of the public which is the same problem for Lady C.

“My money is on Jorgie although she always  looks frightened of kind of everything. George Shelley acts and is frail and Yvette Fielding is out of her depth in this company as is Susannah Constantine.

“Kieron Dyer needs to show some character as he’s coming over as a typical footballer but in contrast Chris Eubank is loving it all back in the limelight. Finally Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, well he doesn’t do it for me with me not being an older woman!”
