Paul Robinson will be at Elland Road on Sunday when two of his former clubs go head-to-head in the Premier League finale
And he admits he’s not looking forward to it, predicting that it will be Leeds 2 Spurs 2 – a result that will send the home side spiralling through the relegation trap door.
Asked on the Betfred TV Football Show show about Leeds’ nightmare season, Robinson blamed “recruitment, and giving managers too long.”
In the other two key games at the bottom, the ex-England keeper believes Everton will beat Bournemouth 2-1 in front of an “incredible” atmosphere at Goodison Park, while Leicester will also triumph …. two-nil at home against West Ham.
So that would mean Everton escaping, but the Championship for Leicester and Leeds along with already-relegated Southampton.
In the other games Robinson thinks there will be plenty of goals with Arsenal finishing off their season of “missed opportunity” in style by beating Wolves 3-1, and Newcastle winning by the same scoreline at Chelsea.
He goes for Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest to draw two-each, Manchester United to beat Fulham 3-0, while Liverpool will triumph by at least four goals to nil v Southampton.
Finally in the Premier League’s last day of the season, he believes champions Manchester City will win two-nil at Brentford, while Aston Villa will beat Brighton 2-1.
In the play-offs Robinson forecasts wins for Luton against Coventry, and for Sheffield Wednesday v Barnsley – while all he’d say about the Stockport-Carlisle game is that it will go to penalties.
Robinson believes it will be a “defining time” for Spurs and England superstar striker Harry Kane this summer, with Manchester United leading the chase for his signature.
