Celtic will look to return to winning ways when they host Aberdeen at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Hoops suffered only their third league defeat of the season last time out, as they lost 4-2 to Hibernian on Wednesday, but the Scottish Premiership champions can extend their 13-point lead at the top of the table if they prove too much for the Dons.

Aberdeen secured third place in midweek thanks to their 3-0 success over St Mirren, so motivation may be an issue during Saturday’s contest.

Team news

Celtic coach Ange Postecoglou will be without Daizen Maeda on Saturday after he picked up a red card against Hibs, while both Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers are out injured.

Postecoglou rested several members of his first-team squad against Hibs, with Joe Hart, Matt O’Riley, Greg Taylor and Jota expected to return to the starting XI.

Aberdeen have no new injury concerns to deal with, although Callum Roberts remains on the sidelines due to an ongoing muscle problem.

Head coach Barry Robson may tweak his team to give some of his fringe players a chance as he prepares to draw up his plans for next season.

Latest Celtic vs Aberdeen Betfred Odds

Celtic to win to nil @ 11/10

For only the second time this season,Celtic are without a win in three, but the Hoops have already secured the title and they will want to bow out in style as they celebrate in front of their own fans.

Postecoglou’s men still have to face Inverness Caley Thistle in the final of the Scottish FA Cup and he will want his team to go into that match on the back of a win.

Thankfully for the Bhoys, their home form has been outstanding this season, and they are unbeaten in 18 at Celtic Park.

The Hoops have scored at least two goals in 19 of their last 21 matches, while they have won their previous seven home matches against Aberdeen in all competitions.

The Dons have failed to score in five of their previous nine on the road and, with little to play for, they could come out on the wrong side of a 3-0 scoreline, which is available at 7/1.

Football Betting Odds

Kyogo Furuhashi to score anytime @ 4/7

Japanese striker Furuhashi is Celtic’s top scorer this season with 25 goals, which is an incredible return from 35 appearances.

He has averaged 103 minutes per goal in all competitions this season and Aberdeen will do well to stop him.

Furuhashi has not scored against the Dons this season, so he will be desperate to improve that record before the end of the campaign.

The 28-year-old has five goals in eight appearances in all competitions and we expect him to end the season on a high in front of Celtic’s passionate fanbase.
