A season ticket is considered a treasured possession for the most loyal football fans, but some season tickets can represent a greater value for money than others.

Here at Betfred, we’ve conducted a study into the cost of every season ticket in the EFL for the 2022/23 campaign to determine which club’s season tickets have been the best value-for-money purchase in regard to their team’s home form this season.

The study has found that relegated MK Dons had the worst value-for-money season tickets for 2022/23, with their followers paying £92.50 for each of their club’s four home wins. Season ticket holders of Bolton Wanderers, who were defeated by Barnsley in the League One play-off semi-finals last week, spent just £17.65 for each of their club’s 14 home wins at the University of Bolton Stadium this season.

When it comes to the worst value season tickets in regard to cost-per-goal, Forest Green Rovers fans, who will be watching their side participate in League Two from the start of August, spent £21.53 for each of the 15 goals their team scored at The New Lawn Stadium over the past year. Despite being relegated alongside Forest Green Rovers from League One, Morecambe had the best value season tickets in the EFL when it comes to goals scored by their club at home, with a cost-per-goal of just £5.

For the study, we used the cheapest adult season ticket available from every club in the EFL to work out the respective cost-per-win and cost-per-goal statistics. Statistics from home ties in play-off semi-finals were not included in the study as the cost for attending these fixtures aren’t factored into season ticket prices.

The study has been broken down into the following seven categories:
