Real Sociedad will hope to extend their fine home record and move closer to Champions League qualification when they host Almeria on Tuesday.
Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have already sealed their place in next season’s Champions League and Real Sociedad are eager to join them.
La Real could book their spot in Europe’s premier competition as soon as Wednesday if they beat Almeria on Tuesday and Villarreal lose against Cadiz 24 hours later.
If both Sociedad and Villarreal earn victories then the Basque outfit will require just one point from their final two games to be assured of at least a fourth-place finish.

Sociedad haven’t featured in the Champions League since 2013/14 after finishing fourth the previous campaign, while they haven’t ended a season higher than fourth since 2002/03 when they ended up runner-up – just two points shy of champions Real Madrid.

Last season’s sixth-place finish, which earned a route into the Europa League, is certain to be bettered but Sociedad are hoping to cling on to their top-four berth.
Tuesday’s visit of Almeria offers a huge opportunity to add another three points to their tally with the Andalusian side battling against relegation.
Almeria are just four points clear of the drop zone and they have collected only seven points on their travels this campaign – the joint lowest in the division.
That should fill Sociedad with hope but there’s not a great deal of value in back a straight home win at 2/5.
Siding with Real Sociedad to win and over 2.5 goals, available at 11/10, is a much more tempting prospect.
The Anoeta hasn’t been the scene of many high-scoring games this term, just five of their 17 home fixtures have seen over 2.5 scored, however, the visit of Almeria changes things.
Away games involving Almeria have seen over 2.5 goals land on 11 occasions, including each of their last seven.
It’s also worth noting that three of their four previous outings at Sociedad across all competitions have seen at least three goals scored.
