- 15:05 – River Tiber – 15/8
- 15:40 – Coolangatta – 9/2
- 16:20 – Chaldean – 6/4
- 17:35 – Buckaroo – 9/2
15:05 – We don’t have a lot to go off when finding a winner of this race but there could be a potential superstar lurking, and River Tiber sets the standard for me after two impressive victories so far. What is most exciting about this horse is that there still looks to be bags of improvement to come from him after running a little Green in parts of the race last time out. I have the main danger as Givemethebeatboys drawn next door who put in a gutsy performance to win last time out and that attitude could be crucial in the closing stages.
15:40 – I am siding with the Aussies here. Sprinting is their bag and Coolangatta looks to have plenty of speed! She won a group 1 over 5f last time out with the winner of this race last year – Nature strip, out of the placings. Next best in this race for me is Dramatised who won at the Royal meeting last year and hasn’t stopped improving since.
16:20 – Some people have knocked the 2000 Guineas form but how far did they want Chaldean to win by!? I think he showed his class and did it easily enough. He’s a straight forward miler that is ground versatile and deserves to be the market leader.
17:35 – Buckaroo is a twice listed winner, once beating Homeless songs at Leopardstown, and a recent Group 1 4th. I think that recent short head 4th is good enough form to win this race and he won’t mind a little rain this morning!
