The NBA playoffs continue as the early hours of Tuesday morning presents Game 2 of the Philadelphia 76ers’ series with the Brooklyn Nets, as well as the Western Conference matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings.

NBA Betting Tips

  • Brooklyn Nets @ Philadelphia 76ers – 76ers (-9.5) @ 5/6
  • Golden State Warriors @ Sacramento Kings – Warriors (-1.5) @ 10/11

Brooklyn Nets @ Philadelphia 76ers – 76ers (-9.5) @ 5/6

The Sixers set a franchise record of 21 three-point shots made in their 121-101 victory in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first-round match up with the Brooklyn Nets.

Joel Embiid has enjoyed a MVP-calibre season, but the Nets’ plan of double-teaming the big man in Game 1 didn’t work as Embiid was happy to keep passing out of the double team to allow his teammates to score.

James Harden had 23 points along with Tobias Harris’ 21, and while the Nets will make adjustments for Game 2 – and Philly can’t sink three-point shots every game – I still think this will be a blowout victory in favour of the hosts in the early hours of Tuesday morning, so I’m backing them on the point spread.

Golden State Warriors @ Sacramento Kings – Warriors (-1.5) @ 10/11

The defending champions just came up short in Game 1 against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, but they will aware that they have to elevate their performance in order to get through this first-round series.

Despite Steph Curry’s 30 points and Klay Thompson scoring 21 points, grabbing six rebounds, and providing five assists, the Kings got the win with a score of 126-123 at home.

De’Aaron Fox exploded for 38 points for Sacramento, and Malik Monk stunned the Warriors with 32 off the bench before the Kings survived two key misses by the Warriors in the final seconds to hold on for the victory.

The loss was just the fourth in a Game 1 in the Steve Kerr era as Warriors coach, during which the team has won four championships and made the NBA Finals on two other occasions.

Kerr’s Warriors rebounded to win Game 2 on all three previous occasions after an opening loss, and went on to win the series in two of the three, including last year’s Finals against the Boston Celtics, so I’m backing them to bounce back here.
