World Snooker Championship Tuesday Tips
Acca – 6/1
Gary Wilson -2.5 Hcp – 4/5
We’re back with another acca with the boys on the baize and first up on Tuesday, it’s a match-up between two training partners, as Gary Wilson (4/11) takes on his good mate Elliot Slesser (11/5), in a battle of Tyneside.
Wilson hails from Wallsend and Slesser from Gateshead, so this is a real local derby. The two have only payed each other once before, with Wilson winning 4-3 at the British Open in 2021.
‘The Tyneside Terror’ has had an up and down career, dropping off the tour for a number of years but is currently at his highest ever world ranking of 16, after a stellar season.
The 37-year-old picked up his first ranking title at the Scottish Open back in December and he should have too much here for Slesser, who is 44 places below Wilson in the rankings and hasn’t made it past the 2nd round this season.
Jack Lisowski -2.5 Hcp – 6/5
Next up, it’s our old favourite Jack Lisowski (4/7) against Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham (4/7).
The two have never played each other professionally before but you would imagine ‘Jackpot’ will have too much here.
The 31-year-old is 19 places above Saenkham in the rankings and is turning into the new nearly man of snooker, having finished runner up in six ranking event finals.
Lisowski tends to save his best stuff for the big tournaments, reaching three semi finals this year, including at the other two Triple Crown events, the UK Champs and the Masters.
‘The Daddy’ has had a reasonable season himself with two semi-final appearances but has never made a ranking final.
Trump/McGill over 15 frames – 8/15
The last game of the day is between 2019 World Champion Judd Trump (4/11) and Scotland’s Anthony McGill (11/5).
The ‘Juddernaut’ has a superb record against McGill, winning nine of their ten match ups but in recent years the Scot has pushed Trump a lot more closely.
Just last year, at this very tournament, ‘The Smiling Assassin’ pushed the Englishman all the way in a 13-11 defeat at the Last 16 stage.
With that in mind and Trump not in top form, the over 15 frames looks a decent enough bet to finish off our treble.
The three selections combined pay a tad over 5/1 at the time of writing but have been boosted by the Betfred traders to 6/1!
