Bangladesh and Ireland face off on Wednesday in the second T20 International in Chittagong and it is hard to see anything else than another dominant victory for the Tigers in what has been a miserable tour for the Irish.

After beating Ireland 2-0 in the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh then transferred that 50-over form into T20 cricket when picking up a 22-run victory (DLS method) in the opening clash at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

The rain may have affected that contest, as Ireland were set a revised target of 104 off eight overs, but it never really felt like the tourists would have been able to get close to Bangladesh’s original score of 207-5.

Across the tour, the Tigers have been dominant with the bat and there has been no answer from the Irish bowling attack, who have taken a fair amount of tap across the one-day games and now the T20s.

Bangladesh are the firm 1/5 favourites to pick up another win and wrap up the series with a game to spare, while Ireland are 10/3 to level the scores heading into the final encounter.

Team news

Neither side is carrying any injuries and it’s likely the same sides from the first T20 will be named for the second encounter.

Bangladesh (Probable XI): Litton Das, Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud.

Ireland (Probable XI): Paul Stirling, Ross Adair, Lorcan Tucker, Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Mark Adair, Craig Young, Graham Hume, Benjamin White.

Litton Das – Bangladesh Top Run Scorer @ 12/5

Rony Talukdar’s 67 was enough to see him finish as Bangladesh’s top scorer in the first T20 and he will be relishing the chance to get at the Irish attack again, but so too will Litton Das and the 12/5 on him to lead his team’s runs charts on Wednesday is very appealing.

The 28-year-old fell three runs short of a half-century in that first Twenty20, but it was still another solid showing from the opener who also made 70 in the second ODI that was washed out and then an unbeaten 50 in the third and final one-day contest.

Das impressed in the 3-0 T20 series victory over England prior to Ireland’s tour, top-scoring with 73 to help his side complete the whitewash over Jos Buttler’s troops, and he can put in another strong performance with the bat on Wednesday.

Cricket Betting Odds

Taskin Ahmed – Bangladesh Top Wicket Taker @ 10/3

In regards to Bangladesh’s bowling attack, Taskin Ahmed was the star of the show in the first T20, finishing with superb figures of 4-16 as he ripped through an Ireland side lacking confidence.

This came on the back of the fast bowler’s 3-26 he took in the final ODI and it would be no surprise to see the 27-year-old continue to cause Ireland problems in Chittagong again.
