Wolverhampton’s meeting on Monday is due to start with the first race of seven at 17:30 over the all-weather surface and we have picked out three selections for the evening card.
As well as a tip in the opening race, we have had a look at the 18:30 and 19:00 contests at Wolverhampton, where the going is standard, and the action at the Black Country track is scheduled to finish with the 20:30 race.
Wolverhampton Betting Tips
17:30 – Kensington Agent @ 7/4
The opener at Wolverhampton is a Fillies’ Handicap which is set to feature eight runners and KENSINGTON AGENT (7/4) looks to be the one the rest will have to beat.
With three wins and a second on her record from her last four runs, Kensington Agent approaches this contest in great form, with her victory last time out at Chelmsford 30 days ago a career-best performance.
Cool Lightning (3/1), who was a winner at Chelmsford City in January, is also expected to be in contention.
18:30 – Smoky Mountain @ 2/1
Frankel gelding SMOKY MOUNTAIN (2/1) was fourth of 14 in his maiden outing at Southwell last month and showed enough promise in that race to suggest he should improve when taking to the track for the third race of the evening at Wolverhampton.
Among the other 10 runners, Dancing in Paris (10/1) may contend if he can repeat the sort of run that produced an eye-catching fourth of 10 in a novice event at Sandown in September, although a disappointing display the following month at Newbury suggests there are still some question marks.
19:00 – Coco Jamboo @ 11/4
The next race is another Fillies’ Handicap in which COCO JAMBOO is one of the stand-out runners among a field of seven.
Marco Botti’s charge won at Newmarket in September and then returned to action earlier this month when finishing second of five in a handicap over this C&D. Therefore, the signs are good ahead of Monday’s race, for which Andrea Atzeni will be in the saddle.
River Pride (13/2) was a solid fourth of 10 in a handicap at Chelmsford City just 16 days ago and is among the main dangers.
