Premier League Darts returns this Thursday, live from the Utilita Arena in Newcastle. We’ve looked at the matches and picked out our best bets for the evening, with an acca boosted from 10/1 to 12/1.

Gerwyn Price was in top form last week, picking up his second nightly win in Nottingham. In a weird quirk of fate, the matches being played in Newcastle are sorted by league position and are an exact replay of the quarter finals last week.

Michael van Gerwyn -2.5 Hcp – 11/10

Michael van Gerwyn (1/3) gets the night off to a lively start, with a blockbuster clash against Peter Wright (23/10).

MVG won this match up 6-1 last week before being demolished by an inspired Chris Dobey in the semis.

‘Snakebite’s’ loss meant he has only won one game in the last seven weeks of Premier League action and he looks totally out of sorts and devoid of all confidence.

This should be another regulation win for Mighty Mike.

Aspinall/Van den Bergh o9.5 legs – 5/6

This is probably the most competitive looking tie of the night between Nathan Aspinall (20/21) and Dimitri Van den Bergh (5/6).

It was tough to split the two last week with ‘The Dreammaker’ running out a close 6-4 winner, despite ‘The Asp’ having the better 3 dart average.

With so little between the pair I’m loathe to pick a winner and instead will be going for the overs on the 9.5 leg market.

Gerwyn Price -1.5 Hcp – EVS

Last week’s winner, Gerwyn Price (8/13) takes on Jonny Clayton (13/10) in an attempt to win back-to-back nightly wins.

Price won 6-4 against Clayton in Nottingham and then repeated that same scoreline against DVdB and Dobey in the final.

‘The Iceman’ reached the semi final of the Players Championship this week, beating MVG on the way, so is clearly appraoaching something near his best.

Chris Dobey +2.5 Hcp – 1/2

Chris Dobey (7/5) exploded back into form last week, beating the two World Championship finalists in Michael Smith (4/7) and then whitewashing van Gerwyn.

‘Hollywood’ was unlucky to lose out to Price in the final and I think he can make the match against ‘Bully Boy’ competitive again.

Night 8 winner: Gerwyn Price – 4/1

Gezzy showed his class last week and then followed that up with a great performance in the Players midweek.

I think a Price v MVG final looks a good bet here and I would take the Welshman to edge it like he did in the Players.
