Two teams at opposite ends of the League One table meet on Tuesday night as relegation-threatened Accrington Stanley host Plymouth Argyle at the Wham Stadium.

A run of four games without a win has dropped Accrington into the bottom four, while Plymouth are flying high under boss Steven Schumacher.

The Pilgrims are only one point behind league leaders Sheffield Wednesday, but they have played two games more than the Owls.

Accrington Stanley vs Plymouth Betting Tips:

  • Plymouth to win to nil @ 11/5
  • Half-time/full-time – Draw/Plymouth @ 4/1

With Accrington out of form, they are as big as 3/1 to win on Tuesday evening.

John Coleman’s men have only picked up one point in their previous four matches and they have lost their last two games – at home to Portsmouth and MK Dons.

The draw is priced at 5/2, while Plymouth are available at 10/11, even though their away form this year has not matched their league standing.

Team news

Coleman is expected to make changes to the team that lost 1-0 to MK Dons last weekend.

Jack Nolan and Korede Adedoyin are both pushing for starts, but Tommy Leigh’s position is likely to be cemented, as he remains Accrington’s leading scorer with six goals.

Plymouth’s Joseph Edwards was forced off at half-time during the 2-0 success over Forest Green Rovers last weekend and he will need to pass a fitness test in order to start.

Football Betting Odds

Plymouth to win to nil @ 11/5

Plymouth’s home form is what has set them apart this season, as Schumacher’s side have only won six of their 18 matches on the road.

They have only won one in five on their travels, and that success came against Oxford United in a 3-1 victory.

However, Accrington’s drop in form is alarming at this stage of the season, and Plymouth should have too much quality for Coleman’s team across the 90 minutes.

Accrington have also failed to find the net in four of their previous seven games at the Wham Stadium, so a 1-0 Plymouth victory appeals at 6/1.

Half-time/full-time – Draw/Plymouth @ 4/1

While Accrington are in the relegation zone, Coleman’s side are not down and out at this stage of the campaign.

Only Forest Green appear to be cut adrift at the bottom, and Accrington will certainly be delighted with a point against a team fighting for promotion.

With that in mind, we expect a cagey first 45 minutes, especially with Plymouth’s away record being patchy.

Both sides are unlikely to give much away inside the first half but, by full-time, we expect Plymouth to show their superior class.
