Bangladesh are looking to wrap up victory in their one-day international series in swift fashion when they host Ireland at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.

The Tigers eased to a 183-run victory in the first of three ODIs between the two nations in Sylhet and they’ll be looking to repeat that performance at the same venue.

Shakib Al Hasan top-scored for the hosts with 93 and Towhid Hridoy chipped in with 92 to help Bangladesh reach 338-8 off 50 overs.

Ireland struggled to keep up with the required run-rate, George Dockrell leading the way with 45, and Ebadot Hossain ended with figures of 4-42 for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh are 1/6 to win the second ODI and Ireland can be backed at 4/1.

Team news

After a comfortable win on Saturday, Bangladesh aren’t expected to switch things up as they attempt to keep building momentum with rotation more likely in the third ODI.

Ireland, however, could look to freshen things up with the bat after posting an underwhelming 155 runs last time out.

All-rounder Gary Delany could be one of those to drop out after he made only one with the bat while returning figures of 0-50 off six overs with the ball.

Middle-order batter Harry Tector may also lose his place in the starting XI after struggling in similar fashion, scoring only three while his six wicket-less overs cost 45.

Northern Knights’ Matthew Humphreys will be hoping to get his chance to stake a claim for more regular action with the national side, while one of Ben White, Barry McBride and Fionn Hand will also be pushing for a starting role.

Bangladesh top run scorer – Towhid Hridoy @ 6/1

Bangladesh posted their highest-ever total in an ODI on Saturday and there’s little to suggest they won’t coast to another victory.

It was a day to remember for debutant Towhid Hridoy as he narrowly missed out on a century when dismissed for 92.

Hridoy’s tally included eight fours and two sixes, with his innings coming off just 85 balls, and only all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan enjoyed a more fruitful day with the bat.

The 22-year-old, who represents Bangladesh Premier League side Sylhet Strikers, thrived in familiar surroundings and offers better value than 3/1 Al Hasan to top the scoring charts for Bangladesh.

Cricket Betting Odds

Bangladesh top wicket-taker – Taskin Ahmed @ 3/1

The Tigers have a strong record against Ireland, winning eight of 10 completed ODIs, and they are expected to further enhance that tally.

As good as Bangladesh were with the bat, they were also deadly with the ball as they sent Ireland packing for just 155 in 30.5 overs.

Ebadot Hossain took four wickets for 42 runs but Taskin Ahmed caught the eye as he ended the day with figures of 2-15.

Ireland just couldn’t cope with the fast bowler who has claimed 75 wickets in 55 ODI appearances for Bangladesh, and he could lead the way for his side on Monday.
