Willie Mullins will be sending out the very classy looking Allegorie De Vassy in the Mares’ Chase with plenty thinking this might be one who becomes a fixture at the Festival. Since being moved to his stable back at the end of 2021, it has been nothing by crossing the line first for this six-year-old. In his two outings so far this campaign she has flat out dominated and won by 19 lengths on both occasions. Plenty to like here at 11/8.
At 9/4 as the primary opposition if you look solely at the betting markets we have the seven-year-old Impervious. Recently purchased by J P McManus, you can expect plenty is expected of this mare who turned back the Henry De Bromhead trained and Rachael Blackmore piloted Journey With Me last time out in a good quality Grade III over at Punchestown. You can see why these are the two dominating the market. Another who is undefeated this season going three for three.
Speaking of the De Bromhead/Blackmore duo, they get together for the fourth choice in the market with Magic Daze. This seven-year-old beat odds-on favourite Dinoblue last time out over at Naas. She jumped well and had plenty left in the tank down the stretch. We know they do well at Cheltenham and could this be another winning combo for the two?
Jeremys Flame likely wouldn’t be a 6/1 shot if it wasn’t for a real step up in performance in his last run. Gavin Cromwell has kept this nine-year-old busy but it was at Huntingdon in January where everyone saw a glimpse of real ability when she went clear in the run-in to beat the well fancied Zambella. Stepped up to Grade I company in December and performed well until weakening late. Questions about her stamina are legitimate. Speaking of Zambella, she is here but is out at 22s.
If Mullins doesn’t win with Allegorie De Vassy then he also has Elimay at 20s and the rank outsider in Dolcita at 40s.
