Betfred have conducted a study into every Premier League 2022/23 signing in both the summer and winter windows to establish which clubs have spent the most over or under the value of the players they’ve purchased at the time of each respective deal being made.

We’ve found that Chelsea have spent £522.38 million on players with a total collective value of £385.56 million, meaning they’ve spent £136.82 million over the value of the players they’ve purchased.

Chelsea’s winter acquisition of Enzo Fernández was found to be the ‘worst value’ signing in the 2022/23 season, with the blues spending £106.7 million on Fernández, who was valued at £48.5 million at the time of purchase.
