Burnley are bouncing their way towards promotion from the Championship and look good enough to see off League One Ipswich Town when they clash in their FA Cup fourth-round replay on Tuesday.

A run of one win in six has derailed the Tractor Boys’ push for promotion from the third tier, but they will feel they showed that they belong a level above with their performance in the original tie.

That game finished 0-0 and it could be another tight tie at Turf Moor, with the winner going on to host either Sheffield Wednesday or Fleetwood Town on 1st March.

Team news

Both Vincent Kompany and Kieran McKenna rotated for last month’s first match and are likely to make changes again with big games on Saturday.

The Clarets are still without on-loan England under-21 international Taylor Harewood-Bellis, Manuel Benson and Arijanet Muric.

Jay Rodriguez is also a doubt with a knock and the game could offer a chance for the likes of Vitinho, Charlie Taylor and Scott Twine, who had to settle for bench roles in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Norwich City.

Ipswich could recall Marcus Harness and George Hirst after they came off the bench in the second half of Saturday’s 1-1 at Cambridge United.

Goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky is also expected to come in between the sticks in place of regular starter Christian Walton.

The Clarets’ success this season has been built on a solid defence and that is of little surprise with Kompany at the helm.

Even Harewood-Bellis’ absence has not hurt too much, with the Clarets keeping three clean sheets in four matches since he was injured in the 4-2 third round win at Bournemouth.

Despite falling out of the Premier League last season, Burnley have always been a solid side, with a lack of goals arguably their Achilles heel.

Ipswich might have the best attacking record in League One, but Burnley are built on solid foundations and will fancy themselves to progress with another shutout.

Scott Twine Anytime Scorer @ 7/2

Twine is a player who has served his time in the lower leagues and beyond, but 20 goals in his one season at MK Dons earned him a move to Burnley.

An ‘innocuous’ injury saw him absent from August to December, but he has enjoyed an increased number of minutes in recent weeks and scored the winning goal in last month’s 2-1 win over West Brom.

The 23-year-old made his first start for the club in the original tie and, having been left on the bench for Saturday’s win at Norwich, is sure to start on Tuesday.

Twine is most at home off the front and has the intelligence to seek out chances.

After breaking his duck against West Brom on January 20th, there is every chance the 23-year-old will grab a second on Tuesday.
