The NBA action continues on Wednesday evening as team-to-beat Washington travel to face the off-form Pistons, while Brooklyn aim to upset Boston.

Washington Wizards @ Detroit Pistons – Washington on the Money Line @ 5/12
The Pistons welcome the Wizards to Little Caesars Arena on the back of dropping eight of their last 10 games, but with four home games coming up, Detroit will be aiming to improve their form in a familiar setting.
That remains an unenviable task however, given that the Wizards have fully hit their stride of late and are flying, winning six straight games.
Though they are set to be without Anthony Gill – with Daniel Gafford remaining a doubt due to illness – the Wizards are being propelled by the work of third-year forward Deni Avdija, who posted career-best figures of 25 with nine rebounds, one assist, a block and a steal in just over half an hour of action on Monday night in San Antonio.
The young Serbian-Israeli has averaged 16.3 in his last four games and forms part of an improving Wizards side who are fancied to outdo a struggling Detroit, whose record of 13 wins and 39 losses is the Eastern Conference’s worst.
Brooklyn Nets @ Boston Celtics – Brooklyn on the Money Line @ 3/1
Brooklyn’s run of back-to-back wins over New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers show that they are still a force to be reckoned with in the absence of Kevin Durant – sidelined with a knee injury.
But in Boston they meet a strong team that sit at the summit of the Eastern Conference ladder on a record of 36 wins and 15 defeats – some way ahead of the Nets’ 31 and 19.
That said, frailties in the Boston unit have been exposed of late. The Celtics have not won a single one of their last four games in regulation time, having lost two in succession against Orlando and Miami before sinking in overtime against the Knicks, finally snapping an unexpected skid in the 125-121 overtime win over the Lakers last time out.
While there is no good time to face the conference leaders, Wednesday night certainly isn’t a bad one and with Kyrie Irving notching 26 points in Brooklyn’s win over the Lakers, with seven rebounds and six assists to boot, the Nets will feel they have half a chance if they can tame the likes of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
Golden State Warriors @ Minnesota Timberwolves – Golden State on the Money Line @ 20/33
Golden State make the long trip northeast to face Minnesota at Target Center and will have taken much encouragement from a 118-111 overtime win for the Sacramento Kings in the Timberwolves’ last slice of action.
The Warriors’ Wednesday evening hosts are preparing for fixture number four of a six-game home programme, but a promising three-game winning run was brought to an end by the high-flying Kings and Minnesota must regroup quickly if they are to avoid lightning striking twice.
Reigning champions Golden State lie fifth in the Western Conference – one place behind the Kings and three above the Timberwolves – and come into the clash full of confidence on a three-game win streak of their own.
Led as ever by Stephen Curry, with a 29.7-point average and 6.3 rebounds per game, Klay Thompson is chipping in with an average of 29.7 and it is therefore little surprise that the Warriors’ 118.1 average points per game is the second highest in the NBA.
Not once in their last six games have Minnesota outscored that average and they will have their work cut out to keep up with their visitors on Wednesday.
