Yes we are rolling with Carlo Ancelotti’s side to win by two or more despite the reigning Spanish and European champions going through a bit of a sticky patch of late. Luka Modric is expected to return to the starting XI having had to make do with a place on the bench for the goalless draw with Real Sociedad last time out. David Alaba should also return from a calf problem and is likely to play left-back to replace the injured Ferland Mendy who is facing a significant spell on the sidelines with a hamstring issue.
The visitors travel to the capital without a manager following the dismissal of Gennaro Gattuso and sitting just a point above the drop zone. They only won two of their eight games following the World Cup and have lost three of their past four in the league.
You would expect the interim manager to make a host of changes to try and get a response from his squad but this is one of the toughest tests in football.
Madrid may have dropped points in four of their seven league games since football returned following the enforced mid-season break. However, a home game against a managerless side who are sitting precariously above the relegation zone is exactly the type of fixture you want when plodding through indifferent form. I like the home side to win this by two or three.
