We are now two weeks into the second season of Winter Love Island and the betting markets are showing something really rather peculiar, the top male and female according to the odds aren’t even in a couple!
Farmer Will has become the top dog for the boys coming in as the 6/4 favourite. It had been Essex boy Ron who had led this market for over a week but his dalliance with Bombshell Ellie has seen a small cooling off in his odds.
Ron is still 2/1 and with Lana and himself seemingly back on track, that price isn’t the worst at this point in the show but he’s already got eyes on Sunday’s Bombshell Samie. It is like he fancies everyone who looks at him but that could be said for many Love Island contestants over the years!
As for Will, he’s with Aussie Jessie and his awkwardness has undoubtedly brought him fans back home. On a personal level, he reminds me a little bit of me, just with a modicum of chat and with some muscle mass. The pairing of Jessie and Will seems to work but I’m struggling to know whether her head will turn or not and he has every chance of making a misstep. He’s already kinda interested in Ellie and that could be his downfall.
Lana (15/8) and Jessie (9/4) are the top choices with the women. The stable couple of Shaq and Tanya are both 6/1 despite having already spent the night in the Hideaway and having shall we say…a good time. Punters though aren’t jumping in to bet on them to go all the way. Whether that is because of the lack of drama or airtime but they have very little momentum in the betting markets.
The two newest boys Spencer and Aaron look destined for a short stint in South Africa according to the odds and I’d not disagree. Zara and Tom ended whatever they had and she is the longest price of all the women and I doubt she’ll get lots of support in the voting. He’s potentially moving on with Olivia but they might have a tricky time of it having seen how they’ve gone so far and well, he kissed Ellie on the terrace. That might be a problem…
I would not be surprised if the winning couple either a) still aren’t together or b) at least one of them is still not even in the villa.
