Napoli host AS Roma at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Serie A on Sunday, looking to extend their winning run in the league to four matches.

Napoli vs Roma Tips

  • Napoli to win and under 2.5 goals @ 11/4
  • Victor Osimhen to score anytime @ 6/5

Napoli (8/11) have lost just once in their last 20 Serie A matches, and they currently sit 12 points clear of AC Milan at the top of the table.

Gli Azzurri’s form has been outstanding. They went into the World Cup break on a run of 13 wins and two draws in 15 Serie A fixtures, having won on the road at key rivals in Milan, Lazio, Roma, and Atalanta. Luciano Spalletti’s side are the clear favourites for the Scudetto, having accumulated 50 points from 19 games.

Meanwhile, Roma (4/1) currently sit fifth in Serie A, as they chase a Champions League spot under Jose Mourinho.

Going into the World Cup break, the Giallorossi were not in great form, winning once in five Serie A matches and losing 1-0 at home to both Napoli and Lazio.

Since the league resumed, they’ve found some improved form and results. They beat Bologna 1-0 and scored two late goals after the 86th minute to draw 2-2 at Milan having been 2-0 down. They then won 2-0 against Fiorentina and 2-0 at Spezia.

Team News

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has missed the last two matches for the hosts due to illness. He should return for this one and compete for a place with Elif Elmas down the left flank. Matteo Politano is set to be benched with Hirving Lozano back in the starting XI of late.

Lorenzo Pellegrini was left on the bench last time out due to an injury precaution, but he should be back to start this match. Zeki Celik is suspended at right wingback so Leonardo Spinazzola is expected to take his place.

Latest Napoli vs Roma Betfred Odds

Napoli to win and under 2.5 goals @ 11/4

Napoli have won 14 of their last 15 Serie A matches, and 10 of 11 home games, scoring 35 goals, so they seem the natural selection here.

However, I’m expecting a closely-fought contest, and Mourinho’s tendency in big games is try and frustrate his opponents. The former Chelsea manager won’t want his side to lose ground in the race for the Champion League places, so I can see Roma trying to frustrate Napoli, resulting in a low-scoring contest.

Victor Osimhen to score anytime @ 6/5

The Nigerian striker is setting the pace in the race for the Golden Boot in Serie A this season, and the 24-year-old bagged his 13th goal of an increasingly-prolific campaign when he netted against Salernitana last Saturday.

Osimhen has rattled the net four times in his last three league appearances, so I’m expecting him to get on the scoresheet at the weekend.
