This week on The Road To Cheltenham, Betfred TV’s Matt Hulmes and Betfred ambassador Frankie Foster caught up with Jonjo O’Neill at his stunning Jackdaws Castle training facility to get the lowdown on the esteemed trainer’s Festival preparations.
Jonjo, who rode four and has trained an impressive 27 Cheltenham Festival winners, reminisced about guiding the great Dawn Run to victory in the 1986 Cheltenham Gold Cup before repeating the feat as a trainer in 2012 courtesy of Synchronised.
Turning attentions to the upcoming Festival, which is now just seven weeks away ladies and gents, Jonjo speaks about his preparations for those epic four days in March – and discusses the “freak” Constitution Hill and what a buzz such horses continue to give him.
Jonjo touches on how the recent cold weather has impacted his plans, and gives word for Easysland who he’s hoping will show his old spark as he prepares to take in the Cross Country Chase in March.
