Paul Nicholls’ emphatic Challow hero Hermes Allen heads a total of 98 entries for the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle.
The six-year-old, who is narrowly favourite with Betfred for the race that opens the Wednesday of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, faces stiff competition from – you guessed it – that man Willie Mullins, who has entered 21.
Moscow Flyer winner Impaire Et Passe joins Champ Kiely, who landed the Lawlor’s Of Naas earlier this year, and the exciting Gaelic Warrior.
Ireland’s champion trainer also has the likes of Grangeclare West, Dark Raven, Hunters Yarn and Quais de Paris in the mix – plus Facile Vega, although that is highly likely just a precautionary entry as he looks a shoo-in to head for the Supreme.
Gordon Elliott has a few, including Irish Point, who’s finished second in a couple of Grade Ones this term, American Mike, Absolute Notions, Three Card Brag, Doctor Bravo and Imagine.
Inthepocket for Henry De Bromhead catches the eye, as does Barry Connell’s Good Land, who is solely entered for the 2m5f contest.
Of the English horses, Givega (Gary Moore), Grey Dawning (Dan Skelton), Henri The Second (Nicholls), Jet Powered (Nicky Henderson) and Rare Edition (Charlie Longsdon) are particularly noteworthy.
