A classic NFL playoff rivalry resumes when the Dallas Cowboys take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday evening (23:00 UK time).
The Niners cruised past Seattle last weekend in a 41-23 triumph, extending their winning streak to 11 games, while the Cowboys eased past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-14.
San Francisco will come into this clash eyeing up a spot in the NFC Championship Game for the second year in a row, while Dallas are seeking to end a 27-year drought by reaching the NFC title game for the first time since advancing to and winning Super Bowl XXX.
Perhaps more alarmingly for the Cowboys, it’s remarkable how the 49ers continue to steamroll their opponents. Since November 27, they’ve only had one instance in which they scored less than 33 points in a single game.

Team News
For the 49ers, Javon Kinlaw has been dealing with a sore knee, Jauan Jennings and Samson Ebukam are recovering from ankle issues, while Jimmy Garoppolo remains out because of a foot injury.
Meanwhile, Jason Peters is doubtful due to a hip flexor for Dallas, Trayvon Mullen practised this week despite being under the weather, Israel Mukuamu should play even though he has a sore hamstring, while Jayron Kearse has a knee injury.
San Francisco 49ers (-3.5 Handicap) @ 20/23
Since Brock Purdy has taken over the QB reigns from Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, he has not missed a beat.
In nine regular-season games, Purdy threw for 1,374 yards and 13 touchdowns, with just four interceptions. He had a career-best game in the Wild Card Round win over Seattle, completing 18/30 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns.
Combine his form with some of the offensive weapons that the Niners possess, such as Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey it’s hard for me to see Dallas coming out on top here.
Christian McCaffrey – 1st Touchdown Scorer @ 9/2
As mentioned above, McCaffrey is a major part of San Francisco’s offence.
He was acquired mid-season from Carolina, and could go down as one of San Francisco’s best ever trades, if he leads them to Super Bowl victory.
In the Wild Card win over the Seahawks, McCaffrey carried 15 times for 119 yards, with a long run of 68 yards. He also had two receptions for 17 yards and one touchdown.
For the season, he rushed for 746 yards on 159 carries with six touchdowns and had 52 receptions for 464 yards and four scores.
I expect him to score on Sunday, and be an integral part of any success that San Francisco have. He’s found the end zone in seven straight games coming into this one.
