The women’s side of the draw dominates the schedule at the Australian Open on Saturday and we have picked out four matches to build our 3/1 acca.

Fourth seed Caroline Garcia and fifth seed Aryna Sabalenka are both in action and form part of our accumulator for the day.

Australian Open Saturday Tips

  • Belinda Bencic to beat Camila Giorgi in straight sets @ 8/13
  • Aryna Sabalenka to beat Elise Mertens @ 2/9
  • Caroline Garcia to beat Laura Siegemund in straight sets @ 4/11
  • Ekaterina Alexandrova to beat Magda Linette @ 4/7

Belinda Bencic to beat Camila Giorgi in straight sets @ 8/13

Bencic’s fine start to 2023 has continued at the Australian Open, as she has yet to drop a set on her way to the third round.

The 12th seed started the year by winning the Adelaide International and she also enjoyed several strong wins at the United Cup while representing Switzerland. In Melbourne she has already beaten Viktoriya Tomova and Claire Liu and she will fancy her chances against Giorgi.

Bencic has won the last two meetings between the pair and she can wrap up a straight-sets victory on Saturday.

Aryna Sabalenka to beat Elise Mertens @ 2/9

These two know all about each other as former doubles partners, but there will be no love lost on this occasion.

Sabalenka’s wins over Tereza Martincova and Shelby Rogers will have given her a confidence boost, but Mertens secured a big win in the first round as she beat Garbine Muguruza.

Mertens then saw off Lauren Davis to set up Saturday’s match, but she has a poor record against Sabalenka.

Sabalenka leads their head-to-head battles 6-2 and she should be able to extend that winning record this weekend.

Caroline Garcia to beat Laura Siegemund in straight sets @ 4/11

The only previous meeting between these two players came at the 2021 French Open, where Garcia cruised past Siegemund in straight sets.

In her opening two rounds in Melbourne Garcia beat Katerine Sebov in straight sets before repeating that success against Leylah Fernandez. The manner of both those victories should stand her in good stead as she prepares to face Siegemund, who has already played in two three-set thrillers.

If tiredness is an issue, Garcia will exploit it and she should have too much class for her opponent on Saturday.

Ekaterina Alexandrova to beat Magda Linette @ 4/7

The head-to-head record between Alexandrova and Linette reads 1-1, so it is tough to read too much into that stat ahead of Saturday’s contest.

Russian star Alexandrova has only ever reached the third round at the Australian Open, so a win will move her into unchartered waters, but her recent form suggests she should be up for the challenge.

Linette is usually tough to beat and, while she should make life difficult for Alexandrova on Saturday, she should come unstuck.

Alexandrova lost just two games in her last match against Linette, but there’s every chance she is made to work much harder this time around.
