A place in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia is up for grabs when Lazio welcome Bologna to the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night.

Bologna battled past Cagliari 1-0 in the last 32, while Lazio are playing their first game of the competition this season.

Lazio last won the trophy in 2019, while Bologna’s last success came all the way back in 1974.

Lazio vs Bologna Betting Tips

  • Lazio to win to nil @ 2/1
  • Lazio Total Goals Over 2.5 goals @ 3/1

Lazio have been listed as 5/6 favourites to win Thursday’s contest within 90 minutes, even though they have won just two of their last five at home in all competitions.

I Biancocelesti are still fighting for a top-four spot under Maurizio Sarri, but they have struggled for consistency this season.

The draw, something that has not happened between these two since October 2019, is available at 5/2, while Bologna are priced at 10/3 to pick up the victory.

Team news

Sarri is likely to hand Luka Romero some more minutes in Thursday’s Coppa Italia clash. The teenager scored the winner against Monza in November, but the boss has been managing the 18-year-old’s exposure this season.

Striker Ciro Immobile is expected to be sidelined after limping off against Sassuolo last time out, while Mario Gila is also on the treatment table. However, Manuel Lazzari is available again after suspension.

Bologna star Marko Arnautovic is still on the sidelines through injury, as is fellow forward Joshua Zirkzee.

Thiago Motta has several selection headaches, with Kevin Bonifazi and Lorzeno De Silvestri also absent with long-term injury issues.

Nicolas Dominguez and Gary Medel are available, though, after serving their respective bans for an accumulation of yellow cards.

Latest Lazio vs Bologna Betfred Odds

Lazio to win to nil @ 2/1

Sarri is likely to make plenty of changes to his starting XI, but his team need to find the winning formula that has evaded them in Serie A.

While Sarri will have to cope without Immobile, Bologna should struggle more without Arnautovic.

The former West Ham forward scored eight goals in 13 games before the World Cup, and the club’s fans will be desperate to see him return as soon as possible.

Even though Lazio have conceded seven in their previous four games in the Serie A, they have kept four clean sheets in their last six at home in the league, and Bologna are likely to struggle without their main two strikers.

Lazio Total Goals Over 2.5 goals @ 3/1

Lazio should hopefully use Thursday’s Coppa Italia as a chance to get back to their best, and their recent home games suggest we could be in for an exciting matchup.

Twenty-five goals have been scored in Lazio’s nine home games in Serie A this season, and they beat Bologna 2-1 in their previous meeting at the Stadio Olimpico this season.

A high-scoring end-to-end battle may have been more fancied before Bologna’s injuries were confirmed, but the home side can rack up the goals as Sarri’s men look to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
