Back Harry Kane to score anytime at 9/5.
How often do you get the chance to back the man who has every chance to be the all-time top goalscorer in the Premier League when all is said and done at odds just shy of 2/1? Not many.
Usually the 29 year-old is odds-on or 5/4 at best to hit the back of the net but the traders here have bumped the price up as they really respect Manchester City and clearly aren’t impressed by Spurs’ recent form.
The stats however show that Kane has scored in 13 of the 19 Premier League games he’s started so far this season. Not too shabby that. You also have to take into account that should the away side be awarded a spot kick, he’ll be the man to step up and take it.
Manchester City haven’t looked all that since the return to action following the World Cup and have conceded in four of the six games they’ve played. The only side not to score were Chelsea in those back-to-back games and Graham Potter’s side looked woefully out of nick.
Kane scored twice at the Etihad last season so will have good memories. It also could well be Antonio Conte’s last stand as the groundswell of opinion from within the Spurs’ community seems to be that the Italian could be on his way as Daniel Levy won’t invest in the squad to the degree that his manager needs to be successful. The players will surely be hearing this and if they support their gaffer, will put in a real shift.
Spurs looked terrible against Arsenal on Sunday and Kane did not get on the scoresheet although he did have four shots. So far this season he’s had at least two attempts on goal in every league game, so he’s bound to get a chance or two no matter how poor the team are playing.
