The Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase has attracted 34 entries ahead of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival – and, given how wide-open the betting is, that’s hardly a surprise.
Willie Mullins is responsible for eight of them, with Bronn, Gaillard Du Mesnil, Glengouly, I Am Maximus, James Du Berlais, Kilcruit, Ramillies and Sir Gerhard – many of whom also feature in both the Arkle and/or the Turners – all entered.
Gordon Elliott’s Gerri Colombe, The Real Whacker for Patrick Neville and Thyme Hill for Phillip Hobbs are all right up there in the betting and were granted entries on Tuesday morning.
Mouse Morris’ Gentlemansgame is in the mix, as are the Paul Nicholls quadruple of Gelino Bello, Monmiral, Stage Star and McFabulous.
Other interesting entries include Dan Skelton’s Grade Two-winning mare Galia Des Liteaux, Gordon Elliott’s Mighty Potter (favourite for the Turners) and Thedevilscoachman for Noel Meade.
Telmesomethinggirl has been entered by Henry De Bromhead despite recent talk of her reverting back to hurdles after a less-than-straightforward to life over fences this season.
