Nicky Henderson’s Jonbon heads 26 entries for the Arkle Challenge Trophy ahead of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
The seven-year-old, who is Betfred’s short-priced antepost favourite for the race, will face stiff competition from (you guessed it) Willie Mullins, who’s entered eight.
Appreciate It, Dysart Dynamo and El Fabiolo are all prominent in the Arkle betting and were included at Tuesday morning’s entry stage – while Flame Bearer, Ha D’Or, James Du Berlais, Saint Roi and Sir Gerhard also feature.
Gordon Elliott has entered three, including last year’s Triumph Hurdle runner-up Fil Dor, Hollow Games and Mighty Potter, who is our current antepost favourite for the Turners.
Other Irish entries of note include Joseph O’Brien’s Banbridge and Largy Debut for Henry De Bromhead.
Aside from Jonbon, the British contingent features the likes of Boothill, Haddex Des Obeaux, Straw Fan Jack and Unexpected Party.
