The NFL playoffs are here, and the race to the Super Bowl can now finally begin after another thrilling regular season.
This week’s Wildcard Round will not feature the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles, as they both secured the number one seedings in their respective conferences.
We will have plenty of post-season coverage over the next few weeks and first up, we have picked out an anytime touchdown treble ahead of the Wildcard Round.
The playoffs are often end-to-end and entertaining, so let’s hope the first set of games live up to the hype.
Wildcard Round Treble Selections
- George Kittle to score a touchdown anytime vs Seattle Seahawks @ 5/4
- Stefon Diggs to score a touchdown anytime vs Miami Dolphins @ 10/11
- Leonard Fournette to score a touchdown anytime vs Dallas Cowboys @ 11/8
Treble @ 9/1
George Kittle to score a touchdown anytime vs Seattle Seahawks @ 5/4
The 49ers’ clash with Seattle is the first Wildcard playoff match of the week on Saturday, and the hosts should have enough quality to see off Pete Carroll’s men.
Rookie QB Brock Purdy will have to handle the pressure if the 49ers are to succeed, but in recent weeks he has dealt with any obstacle thrown in his direction. Tight End George Kittle has acted as a comforting security blanket for Purdy, while he has also enjoyed a superb record against Seattle of late.
In two of his last three appearances against the Seahawks, Kittle has scored two touchdowns, and with Carroll’s side struggling to contain Tight Ends over the latter part of the regular-season campaign, the 29-year-old can improve his record against the 49ers’ NFC West rivals.
Stefon Diggs to score a touchdown anytime vs Miami Dolphins @ 10/11
After a quiet few weeks, Buffalo Bills star Stefon Diggs looked back to his best in Week 18 as Josh Allen and co beat AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots, 35-23.
Diggs scored Buffalo’s final touchdown last week, but in terms of touches and involvement, he was much more like his usual self.
The fans’ favourite is usually a man for the big occasion, and in the 10 playoff games he has played for the Bills, he has averaged 75 receiving yards. Quarterback Allen often leans heavily on his star wide receiver, and this week’s clash with the Dolphins should be no different.
Leonard Fournette to score a touchdown anytime vs Dallas Cowboys @ 11/8
The playoffs are when Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette comes alive, and he has continued to shine at the highest level in recent years.
Fournette has scored an incredible 10 touchdowns in his last eight career playoff games, and he has scored one every time he has played post-season football for the Bucs.
Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles chose to rest Fournette for large parts of Week 18 in the 30-17 defeat to the Atlanta Falcons, and that should allow him to bring his best this weekend.
While the Dallas Cowboys are ranked fifth against the run this season, Fournette’s record in the playoffs is too hard to ignore, and we fancy him to get the job done in the final game of the Wildcard Round.
