Afan Lido didn’t do the business on Friday alas as they drew 1-1 meaning it is two loses on the spin but that six-day week streak isn’t too far in the rear view mirror. For Saturday’s Bet of the Day at Evens or Longer we have plenty of action to choose from both domestically and across Europe. After a review of some of the goal scoring stats, I’ve decided to grab some sunscreen and head to Girona in Spain with my eye on an entertaining game of football…

A game between mid-table Girona and relegation-threatened Sevilla might not be the most glamorous of the Saturday slate but when deep-diving into the statistics, it is one that popped out immediately on my swing through the Betfred European Longlist.
The home side have been involved in BTTS games in every competitive match they’ve played since October covering no fewer than 15 games. The visitors are not as high but are still notching up a 75% record for BTTS in league action this season (Girona are at 88%) so this game should have decent attacks and porous defences, a fine recipe for goals markets.
Alas the BTTS itself is odds-on at 4/5 so I can’t use that as a solo bet for this column based on my own criteria (evens or longer) but if you are looking to add a market to a Saturday acca then the stats suggest you could do an awful lot worse.
Girona have scored exactly two goals in four straight La Liga games and only Real Madrid along with Barcelona have actually scored more goals in La Liga play so far this season.
Sevilla might be hanging around in the lower reaches of La Liga but they are quite simply too good to be down there. Injuries have been a mitigating factor but they need to start getting it going sooner rather than later.
The visitors have been the dominant team in this match-up historically but they haven’t faced one another since 2019, so you might as well throw out that fact. I think it could easily be a high-scoring game and if it finished 2-2 at 12/1 then I wouldn’t be shocked. However I’ll play it a little bit safer and take that Evens on offer on Over 2.5 Goals in total.
