Back De Treffers to beat Cambuur at 16/5
Betting on cup matches often has more opportunities for good wins but also comes with significantly more risk. No-one knows what side a manager will send out for these games whereas when it comes to league action, most of the time you’ll be the best XI available make the starting lineup.
Cambuur are sitting rock bottom of the Eredivise and have only won two league games all season. The last time they won a competitive match was a 0-3 win on the road to a team in the Derde Divisie. That was in the previous round of this tournament but they are on a six-game losing streak when it comes to facing top flight opposition. Maybe a cup run will help boost their league form as they look to survive but this has all the making of an upset.
De Treffers are high-flying in the third tier of Dutch football and they could easily be facing off against Cambuur in league action come the autumn. Jan de Jorge’s side are set to play their first game in a month later tonight and they’ve only failed to win twice in front of their own fans so far this season and you can contrast that with their opposition having dropped four of seven away from the Cambuur Stadion.
This just feels like a classic ‘cupset’ and having had a pretty good run in recent days, the chance to take a 16/5 shot feels like a good punt.
