PDC World Darts Semi Final Tips

Bet on the PDC World Darts Championships with Betfred here

Gabriel Clemens +2.5 sets – 5/6

First up, we have England’s Michael Smith (1/3) taking on Germany’s Gabriel Clemens (9/4), for a place in the World Championship finals.

Clemens has been the story of the tournament (apart from GP’s ear defenders) and is the first German to ever make it this far at a major tournament.

The 39-year-old absolutely demolished the world #1 5-1 in the semis and let his darts do the talking with eight 180’s and a 99.94 average. He now faces the pre-tournament 2nd favourite in Smith.

‘Bully Boy’ has flattered to deceive in this year’s worlds but has found himself in the semi final, showing just exactly how good a player he is.

The 32-year-old can count himself fortunate to have progressed past Martin Schindler and Stephen Bunting, having been outplayed by both.

If Clemens can keep up the level he displayed against Gezzy, he can push Smith all the way to the later sets and can cover this handicap.

Michael Smith to win and Clemens most 180s – 3/1

However, I picked Michael Smith to win in my Tournament Preview and should he play to the level we know he can, he should triumph over the ‘German Giant’.

One reason for the St Helens dartist’s lack of power this week has been his inability to hit the maximums. Something that can’t be levelled at Clemens.

Smith only hit six 180’s in eight sets against Stephen Bunting and he appears to be having trouble on his final dart.

Clemens bashed in eight in six sets against Price and can do the same again here, with a huge German presence in the crowd cheering him on.

Darts Betting Odds

Michael van Gerwyn -3.5 sets – 20/21

I tipped up MVG (2/13) as my main pick for the tournament and he’s only strengthened  my belief in him, with some tremendous performances throughout.

Wins over Lewy Williams, Mensur Suljovic, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Chris Dobey saw ‘Mighty Mike’ drop just three sets and average 100+ in every contest.

Next up is Dimitri Van den Bergh (9/2) who has breezed through to this first ever semi-final for the Belgian.

‘The Dreammaker’ hasn’t had the most difficult of runs but dealt with an under par Jonny Clayton in the Quarter Finals, smashing in 13 180’s and maintaining his 95+ average.

I can’t see anything here than another van Gerwyn demolition and have taken him on the -3.5 set hcp.

Michael van Gerwyn to win the match and Van den Bergh most 180’s – 11/10

MVG has hit 23 Tournament 180’s and has showed a tendency to switch down on a regular basis.

Dimi has one more than van Gerwyn and exploded into life in the quarter with 13 180’s.

I like the bet of the Dutchman to win with Van den Bergh to hit the most maximums.
