Arsenal to beat Newcastle United @ 5/6

Arsenal ended 2022 with a bang, enjoying a pulsating 4-2 victory over Brighton, while Newcastle lost ground on the top two after being held to a goalless draw by Leeds United..

No team in Premier League history has lost the title after collecting 16 points from 43 games, and it seems the belief is growing week-by-week that Arsenal can lift the Premier League trophy come May.

Despite a frustrating draw at Elland Road, Newcastle continue to defy pre-season expectations as they currently sit third in the table, and continue to dream about the possibility of Champions League nights returning to St. James’ Park.

This will be a tough game for the Gunners, but their perfect home record makes it hard for me to back against them here.

Everton to beat Brighton & Hove Albion @ 5/2

Everton responded to the deflating defeat at home to Wolves with a valiant performance at the Etihad Stadium, earning themselves a point against Manchester City.

However, that point will count for nothing if they suffer another defeat at Goodison Park.

Brighton put up a good fight against league leaders Arsenal in their final match of 2022, and there were certainly promising signs in the defeat.

I’m leaning more towards an Everton win here, however. I think their performance at the Etihad could be one that turns their season around, and gives Frank Lampard’s side confidence that they can grind out results when they need to.

Everton remain toothless, to an extent, in attack, but I think one goal could be the difference in this one.

Fulham to beat Leicester City @ 11/5

High-flying Fulham are aiming to make it three wins on the spin here, as they travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City.

The Foxes have had a torrid time since returning from the World Cup break, losing both of their league games so far.

Brendan Rodgers’ side lost 3-0 against Newcastle, before losing at 2-1 at Anfield, courtesy of two own goals from Wout Faes.

There’s still a long way to go, but Fulham are currently in seventh place in the Premier League, and they may have their sights on pushing for European qualification.

In their last trip on the road, the Cottagers ran away with a game against Crystal Palace, winning 3-0 at Selhurst Park, and then they followed that up with a win against struggling Southampton.

I’m backing Marco Silva’s side to make it three wins on the bounce here.
