Chelsea resume Premier League duties when they welcome Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening (17:30). We’ve previewed the game and picked out our two best bets for you to take a look at.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth Tips

  • Under 2.5 Total Goals @ 6/5
  • Draw @ 9/2

Chelsea will look to snap a three-game losing run when they host Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter’s side are currently in eighth place in the Premier League, eight points adrift of the top four, which is where they will be aiming to finish come the end of the season.

Bournemouth returned to action in midweek, losing 1-0 to Newcastle United in the EFL Cup, and they are currently 14th in the Premier League.

Chelsea are favourites for the game at 3/10, while the Cherries are 9/1 to take the three points back to the South Coast. The draw is 9/2, while the 2-0 scoreline is the bookies’ favourite for correct score at 11/2.

Team News

The Blues lost Armando Broja to a season-ending ACL injury during their friendly with Aston Villa, and he will be one of the guaranteed absentees for the Blues on Tuesday.

Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech and Croatia’s Mateo Kovacic will be given more time to recover after the World Cup, while Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also in the treatment room.

Neto and David Brooks are out until the New Year for Bournemouth, while Jefferson Lerma, Lloyd Kelly and Marcus Tavernier will all need last-minute fitness tests.

Latest Chelsea vs Bournemouth Betfred Odds

Under 2.5 Total Goals @ 6/5

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in five of the Blues’ last six league games, so I can see that happening again here.

Bournemouth have been thrashed 9-0 at Anfield and 4-0 at Manchester City this season but since their mauling on Merseyside they have only lost one of their six away trips by more than one goal.

In addition, Chelsea failed to score in their three games before the World Cup break. Bournemouth are likely to adopt a defensive approach and that, combined with a Blues attack low on confidence, could mean goals are in short supply.

Draw @ 9/2

Barring the 1-0 loss to Arsenal, the Blues have held their own at Stamford Bridge for the majority of the campaign.

However, given Chelsea’s poor form in front of goal, combined with Bournemouth’s renewed confidence, this could be a tricky test for Graham Potter’s side.

Indeed, Bournemouth have the worst defensive record in the Premier League having suffered massive defeats at Liverpool and Manchester City but the Cherries have also been regular scorers on the road, so I think there is plenty of value in backing the draw here.
