Racing fans can look forward to a mix of jumps and flat racing on Thursday before the sport takes a break ahead of Boxing Day’s packed schedule.
There are 16 races planned at Lingfield and Southwell on the flat on Thursday, while fans of jumps racing can watch 14 races from Ayr and Ffos Las on the final day of racing until Monday.
Lingfield’s eight-race card starts proceedings at 11:50, with a handicap race over seven furlongs opening the card, where the going is standard.
The opening contest looks wide open, with Deputise (10/3), Calonne (7/2) and Free Solo (4/1) all in with a chance.
Thanks to Betfred’s “Super Extra Place” promotion, four places are up for grabs in a nursery handicap contest at 12:20, while Betfred’s “Free Bet if 2nd” offer is available in the penultimate race of the day at 14:50.
Punters can earn a free bet up to £10 if their selection finishes second, and David O’Meara’s Starshiba (3/1) has a decent chance of making it successive wins at Lingfield on Thursday afternoon.
The first of seven races at Ayr start at 12:30, where the going is listed as Good to Soft.
Trainer Donald McCain Jnr has five runners heading to the Scottish track, but the pick of the bunch appears to be Gold Emery (15/8).
The six-year-old made a perfect start to his hurdles career in February at Carlisle, and with Brian Hughes booked to ride, he could be tough to beat.
Ffos Las’ card takes place on Soft, good to soft in places ground, with the opening race due to start at 12:40.
Plenty of the UK’s leading trainers will be heading to the track, with Nicky Henderson saddling both Ballyhigh (7/1) and The Brew Master (9/1) in the opener.
Henderson will be hoping stable jockey Nico de Boinville can guide Fable (2/1) to victory in the Cazoo Handicap Chase at 14:10, a race that Betfred will pay up to four places in.
While Ffos Las’ card comes to a conclusion at 15:40, there is still evening race on the cards on Thursday.
Southwell’s eight-race meeting runs from 17:00 until 20:30, and the going is listed as standard on the Allweather.
Betfred’s “Extra Place” promotion is available in contests at 17:00, 18:30, 19:00, 19:30 and 20:00. The race of the day may be the finale, though, with Funky Town Pinkie (6/4) and Reset Button (6/4) both set to contest a handicap contest over two miles at 20:30.
The pair have both been in good form, while Mark Usher’s Bird For Life (15/2) may have enough to spring a surprise after winning last time out.
