The NBA continues on Wednesday night and into the early hours of Thursday morning. You know the drill by now – we’ve picked out an 18/1 four-fold, with there being plenty of teams in action.
NBA Betting Tips
- Washington Wizards @ Denver Nuggets – Over 224.5 Total Points
- Sacramento Kings @ Toronto Raptors – Under 227.5 Total Points
- Portland Trail Blazers @ San Antonio Spurs – Spurs on the Money Line
- Cleveland Cavaliers @ Dallas Mavericks – Mavericks on the Money Line
Accumulator of 18.31/1
Washington Wizards @ Denver Nuggets – Over 224.5 Total Points
Every game in the NBA matters, but this one may mean a little more to the players and coaches involved.
It’s a homecoming of sorts – Washington head coach Wes Unseld Jr. was an assistant on Denver head coach Michael Malone’s staff, while Monte Morris and Will Barton were integral parts of the Nuggets’ recent rise from the lottery to postseason mainstays.
The Wizards have lost seven in a row and 10 of their last 11, in part due to injuries, but they will be hoping to end this poor run of form here against a Denver side that is close to full health.
I’ve opted for over 224.5 total points as Bradley Beal and Nikola Jokic are two of the higher scorers in the league, and I can see this one being an open game with the Wizards having some injury woes.
Sacramento Kings @ Toronto Raptors – Under 227.5 Total Points
The Raptors have just lost two games on the road to the Orlando Magic, so they will be determined to make amends here.
Meanwhile, the Kings lost 123-103 to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday and have dropped three of the first four games of a six-game road trip.
I’ve decided to back the under market here because, despite the fact that the Kings score the third most points per game and rank sixth in offensive rating, they have dropped two straight games against the 76ers and Knicks with underwhelming offensive performances.
They scored 99 and 103 points in those two losses, with both games going under the posted total, and the Kings now face a much tougher defensive challenge here compared to those opponents, as the Raptors rank top 10 in opponent points per game and defensive rating.
Portland Trail Blazers @ San Antonio Spurs – Spurs on the Money Line
The Spurs will have their hands full trying to contain Damian Lillard for their fourth consecutive win here, but I fancy them to do it.
Lillard shot the Trail Blazers to consecutive home wins over Minnesota and is on fire heading into San Antonio.
Meanwhile, the Spurs have rebounded from an 11-game losing streak by winning their past three contests, including a 112-111 home victory over Cleveland last time out.
This is a tough test for Gregg Popovich and co. but I’m backing them here.
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Dallas Mavericks – Mavericks on the Money Line
Finally, I’m backing the Mavericks to topple the Cavaliers here to complete our four-fold.
Luka Doncic is playing at an MVP standard and is averaging 33.1 points per game at the moment. He returned after missing one game to rest his right quad contusion and tallied 38 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists – not bad at all.
In addition, the Mavericks have won seven of the past eight meetings against Cleveland.
The Cavaliers were stunned by San Antonio last time out, so they will be keen to bounce back here, but that is easier said than done.
