Blackburn Rovers vs Preston North End

Two teams in the hunt for the Championship playoffs meet at Ewood Park on Saturday as Blackburn Rovers host Preston North End.

Blackburn will resume their Championship campaign in third place, and they have kept themselves busy with two friendly wins over Hearts and Ajax. While in the league, they have only scored one in three, their form at home is much more consistent.

Rovers have scored two or more goals in five of their last seven at home, while Preston have scored in five consecutive games on the road.

Ipswich Town vs Peterborough United

Second-placed Ipswich Town face sixth-placed Peterborough United in League One, in a game that both sides will be desperate to win.

The Tractor Boys have only failed to score in two of their last ten games at Portman Road, and while Peterborough have lost four on the spin, the Posh will feel they can cause Ipswich problems.

Grant McCann’s side have scored seven in five on their travels of late, while both teams have scored in this fixture in five of the last six meetings.

Lincoln City vs Wycombe Wanderers

A mid-table battle in League One has taken our fancy as 10th-placed Wycombe Wanderers travel to Lincoln City.

While both teams have failed to score in all four of Wycombe’s previous matches, it is hard to see Lincoln not finding the back of the net.

The Imps have been a joy to watch under Mark Kennedy, especially at home, and they have scored in six consecutive matches at Sincil Bank.

The Chairboys lost last time out on their travels to Cheltenham Town, but they have won three of their final four in the third tier away from home, scoring four goals in the process.

Grimsby Town vs Tranmere Rovers

A close contest is expected between Grimsby Town and Tranmere Rovers on Saturday afternoon as both teams try to improve on their mid-table position.

Neither side are in great form, with Grimsby winning one in five, while Tranmere are winless during the same period.

However, that does not mean we should expect a boring fixture, especially with Grimsby’s recent run at home. They have scored in eight of their previous ten on home soil, while Tranmere’s away performances have deserved better results.

They have scored in five of their last six away from Prenton Park, and this League Two battle could go be one of the games of the division this weekend.
