It might take more than 90 mins but Robbo’s firmly with England!

Full disclosure time. I’ve prepped up a few of our Football Shows, invariably featuring Betfred TV’s Mark Pearson and a ‘name’ from the game offering unique insight.  Vision that us mere mortals can only wonder about from the sidelines.

I have to tell you –  this is the best one I’ve yet encountered. No question.

World Cup quarter-final markets, including England, with Betfred

There’s a link to the show, below, and I can’t recommend highly enough the insight I mentioned earlier. Paul Robinson is a frequent flyer with us, mercifully. A very welcome, expert witness.

We hear right now not only about the likely outcomes of the impending World Cup quarter-finals (to be played on Friday and Saturday), but some absolutely fascinating detail from England’s former ‘keeper. Don’t forget, he appeared in a World Cup quarter himself in 2006. Been there, done that.

I won’t spoil your enjoyment, but want to know in great specifics about how goalkeepers prepare for penalty shoot-outs? It’s all here, forensically described by Paul.

Information I had NO IDEA about, and I’ve been watching the game since, well, I remember black and white, let’s leave it at that.

There’s loads of chat about England’s titanic clash with France of course – can our resident flyer Kyle Walker keep Kylian Mbappe in check? Robbo thinks England’s midfield protectors Rice and Hendo will need to help out. Plus the rest of our rear-guard. He’s that damned good.

Can’t expect the world’s best player right now to obligingly resist roaming where he can most do damage – and with Griezemann, Dembele and Giroud aiding and abetting, we’ve got it all to do.

But – Paul sees the absence of the likes of Pogba, Kante and Benzema giving even greater credence to England’s prospects, AND we’ve big tournament experience now under Gareth Southgate. Don’t forget too that record number of knock-out stage major championship wins under his tenure.

I won’t spoil it for you – please have a listen, below – but Paul foresees potentially a long night of drama with, shall we say, a rousing ending …

Mark reminds us all to focus on our Double Delight Hat-trick heaven offer. If your first goalscorer bet does the business, should he then grab another it’s DOUBLE the odds payout, and if he scores three it’s TREBLE. Get in.

Paul reckons an ageing Croatia MIGHT just find Brazil a brilliant, shimmying bridge too far (how about 3-1 to the Samba Kings), while Netherlands/Argentina got Mark P all dewy-eyed about Argentina ’78, Mario Kempes, and all that tickertape. Imagine having to tidy up after that.

Paul thinks the 2022 incarnation of the Albcilestes will hold too many aces again, with 9/1 and 20/1 shots tipped up.

Finally, those Portuguese stars appeared to relish the freedom offered the other night, as CR7 sat one out for a change, internationally at least. More of the same is anticipated against gallant Morocco, with Robbo plumping for 3-0, a juicy 11/1 shot right now.

If you want to know why Mark Pearson wants an England/Argentina final, listen in. If you want to be thoroughly entertained and dare I say it enlightened, as I certainly was, then tune in too.

The countdown is well and truly on. Nails are looking grim. Fridge conversely is looking great. Enjoy!
