Going into the World Cup, I don’t think most England fans thought they were going to go deep into the tournament. Then after a 6-2 win over Iran, positively surged through the nation. That surge somewhat stalled after a lacklustre display against the USA on Friday night but progress is still possible and a poor game in the group stages isn’t something to overly worry about.

Two poor displays in the group stages though is a problem and one that is very much staring Rob Page and his players very much in the face. A decent second-half display against the USA saw them grab a vital point thanks to a Gareth Bale penalty but a very much under-par performance to Iran has seen their World Cup hopes hanging by a thread.

Wales have lost six straight times to England and have only scored one time across those matches. You have to go back to 1984 when a young Mark Hughes scored the only goal of the game to find a Welsh win.

We’ve added plenty of new player prop bets that are available around 24-48 hours before kick-off including tackles, assists and Shots on Target. You can check out all our latest prices for this one via the Latest Wales vs England Odds button below.

Latest Wales vs England Odds

England are the betting favourites helped no doubt by some partisan gambling but also by the class Gareth Southgate has at his disposal. 2/5 however feels short considering the form of the English. You can back the draw at 19/5 with the Welsh Dragons available at 7/1 to pull off the upset.

Danny Ward looks set to take the gloves with Wayne Hennessey unavailable due to suspension following his sending off in the Iran match. The Leicester goalkeeper came off the bench and allowed two goals in added time. He couldn’t do much with either strike to be fair but it is something to note.

Harry Kane is the shortest price to score anytime with the England captain odds-on at 5/6 to hit the back of the net. The Spurs’ striker hasn’t looked like scoring in his two games and really struggled against the US. You have to wonder just how bad his ankle injury is and whether a rest for a fully fit Marcus Rashford or Callum Wilson would be a smart play. He is the penalty taker so if he plays, that is worth remembering. Gareth Bale is Wales’ top choice as well and like Kane – he also takes spot kicks. You can back him at 5/2 to score.

World Cup Betting Odds

BTTS is a rare odds against as the traders don’t fancy Wales to trouble Jordan Pickford with 11/10 the price available if you think both teams will score. The Over 2.5 market is 4/5 which again seems to indicate they expect a relatively comfortable England win. I’m not so sure.

One price that did stand out for those looking for Bet Builder legs then how about John Stones to have 1+ Shots of Target? England are good at set pieces and both the City man and his CB colleague Harry Maguire can get on the end of good balls into the box. Stones is 3/1 in this market with Maguire a 2/1 play. It would be a surprise if neither player recorded an effort on target in this match.
