Brazil took time to warm-up in their opening game but did eventually hit a high gear in their 2-0 win over Serbia whilst the Swiss played in a highly entertaining game against Cameroon. Either side can all but book their spot in the knockout stage and as we have done for every game at this tournament, we take a look at some of the key betting markets…
You can’t start writing an article about Brazil without first mentioning that Neymar will not be available for this game. The superstar striker will miss the rest of the group stage with a swollen ankle. For most teams this would be a massive blow but Tite has such a plethora of attacking talent at his disposal that the drop-off will not be as dramatic.
We’ve added plenty of new player prop bets that are available around 24-48 hours before kick-off including tackles, assists and Shots on Target. You can check out all our latest prices for this one via the Latest Brazil vs Switzerland Odds button below.
It wasn’t a vintage Brazilian display until the deadlock was broken but once that happened, it was like a surge of confidence flooded through the team and they looked very good. If they play like that this should be a win for the favourites.
Switzerland got a key win over Cameroon in their opener and that result gives them every chance to make it through to the Round of 16 no matter the result in this game. Murat Yakin’s side are not the most expansive in the tournament and on that note – they’ve failed to score more than twice in any games so far in this calendar year. So don’t go into this Group G game expecting an end-to-end thriller.
Tite’s side are 1/2 to come away with the three points. The draw is 10/3 and a Swiss upset is 6/1. We’ve seen a fair few shocks already in Qatar but I’m not chomping at the bit to bet against the Brazilians on Monday. They are 7/5 to win to nil which is the Racing Post Spotlight bet and that doesn’t look like the worst play ever.
No fewer than 11 Brazil players lead the goalscorer markets including the injured Neymar. If we move him to one side then Richarlison is the top price at 11/10. The Spurs’ man scored a brace in their opener and is fully expected to lead the line once again. BTTS is an Even money play with the Over 2.5 the favourite in that market coming in at 4/5.
